'She’s our little sister!' Chiefs coach Dave Merritt, who is interviewing for 49ers DC job, calls Taylor Swift ‘part of the family’

The Travis Kelce -Taylor Swift saga started from the very beginning of the previous NFL season. Their dating rumors spread like a fire. After a few days, Swift started attending the games of the Kansas City Chiefs and in a few weeks, they were seen kissing publicly- confirming their relationship.

However, Swift’s presence did not go uncritical. A section of people started demeaning her by saying that she was a major distraction to the interest of the NFL. She was also verbally attacked by the fans in the AFC Championship game.

Merrit ridiculed all of these allegations that Swift faced. Instead, he advocated Swift’s passion. He said that Swift used to come to the field earlier also by not letting anyone know.

It was private. She was coming into the stadiums without people really knowing until the camera put the big spotlight on her.

It is unsure whether Merrit will end up getting the job at the Chiefs but it is certain that he has made the Chiefs his family. In the interview, he said that Swift is his little sister and the entire team treats her like that.

Upon meeting her, I felt like she actually added to what it was that we were trying to do. Because there were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on TV, that you know what, you're part of our family because you're now with Travis, so therefore you're our little sister or you're whatever it may be, you're part of the family.

The Chiefs’ defense was the second-best in the NFL regular season. Merritt has already done a good job. It is to be seen if Merrit leaves the Chiefs to get a better job at the 49ers or not.
