Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles made a major signing for their secondary Tuesday when they added a former first-round pick at cornerback.

The Eagles are battling several injuries in the secondary in Week 5. Avonte Maddox suffered a pec injury in Week 2 and has been ruled out for the season. The Eagles needed to add depth to replace Maddox.

The Philadelphia Eagles sign a cornerback

According to Jordan Schultz, the Eagles signed cornerback Bradley Roby after a successful workout. Roby was getting interest from a few NFL teams following his release from the New Orleans Saints following training camp. Roby wanted to sign with the Eagles in a quest to win a Super Bowl this season.

The Denver Broncos drafted Roby with the 31st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was on the Broncos when they won Super Bowl 50. Roby spent the previous two seasons with the Saints.

Roby has 85 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, eight forced fumbles and three pick-sixes. Roby earned a 45.4 grade from Pro Football Focus for his play during the 2022 season.
